Aussie-assembled F-Truck steering columns?

Allo,

I'm led the believe, so please correct me if I'm wrong, that Aussie-assembled F-Trucks used steering columns (thus steering wheels, indicator/wiper levers, etc) from the Falcons of the same vintage.

Therefore my '83 truck would have an XE steering column, right? I have been looking at getting a new steering wheel, and I like the look of some of the US-source items but are the boss kits for the american columns compatible with the local ones?

You are right with the Falcon part.

As for interchangability... that I can't answer with 100% certainty - although I would be GENUINELY surprised if it is different.

Are you able to take the cover off and see the attachment pattern - and get a set of Verner's to it?

Thanks Fred, I'll see if I can't have a play with it this weekend, I'm throwing in a new starter motor so I'm going to be on the tools briefly anyway.

I like the idea of a nice billet boss kit and steering wheel so hopefully there are interchangable.
