buffalobob is starting off with a positive reputation.
where can I find a 1 " fan spacer for 460

Im trying to find a 1" fan spacer for my 460 clutch fan .....I installed a belt drive hydraulic pump and the std fan is just nipping the hydro pump shaft bolt

I would have thought that any speed shop would have this - not so....the 3/4 inch pilot hole and nub is the spoiler here - GM cars have 5/8 pilot and that all the mfgrs like Mr G and Hayden have ----I like this ford - but this along with a hundred other small dramas encountered in rebuilding this truck ---and the expense of anything ford makes one wonder WHY ?

are ford clutch fans fom all size v-8s interchangeable? ......and are there different length clutches ?

C9AZ-8546-A .. Fan Spacer - 1 1/4" long - used on 429/460's: 1969/91.

D0SZ-8546-A .. Fan Spacer - 1 13/16" long - used on 429/460's: 1970/91.

Parts catalogs state: Fan spacer = pulley to fan.

There were 9 different 460 fan clutches used from 1980/91 on 460's. The parts catalog doesn't state the length.

I have no parts catalogs after 1991, but you could call FTE sponsor Green Sales in Cincinnati Ohio and ask them what was used after 1991. If it will work for you, Green has the C9AZ-8546-A spacer, but not the other one I listed. 800-543-4959. Green sells obsolete Ford parts.
