300i to 460

Hello group,
just read through 367 posts using this search criteria: 'F250 300i swap 460' as well as: '300 swap 460'. Really didn't find what I was looking for.

Can someone point me to some post that show whats needed and what I'm looking at to swap an F250 300i with a 460/C6? I know: new motor mounts, new drive line. I'm looking for radiator recommendations (can stock work), vacuum lines, motor mount locations, tranny cross member locations, motor placement, brake booster, etc.

Thanks,
Race

why get rid of the 300-6 its probably fords best motor, they live for ever and get decent mileage. not to mention the torque they produce down low. if your set on swapping in a major gas guzzler then you will need a Bigblock C6, different motor mounts, radiator. wiring should be fine unless your current 300 is efi??
what year f250 are we talking about

True, however this is being built into a race truck, so mileage is out the window...

i would build a stroker 393 or 408. its lighter , produce as much if not more power then the 460 and can be run with the tranny you already have.

Ditto.

393 and 408 stroker kits are easily available and utilize the same SBF bellhousing as the big 6.

Not to mention... you can stroke that windsor to 427 if you so please.

yes, i agree. Got 2 built 351w's now and love them (one in a race f150, another in a race Bronco). This is a project I'm buying that comes w/ the 460. I'm just going to turn it around and sell it. It's not currently dropped in the truck now. Gotta put it all together and finish it. I have considered using a 351 i've got laying around instead and selling the build 460... I'd have to rebuild that 351 though, and right now it's stock.

So, if anyone is interested in the complete motor/tranny/wiring out of this thing, please let me know. It's got 90k miles on it and runs great. Tranny is the 5 speed manual.

I'd be looking for someone that wants to come to my shop and pull it. If so, you can have all of it for cheap.

Located in NW Vegas.
