I went to my dealer Tuesday to have the latest flash done (had the white/blue smoke problem). While I was there I went to the parts dept. to order or buy one of the job 2 air dams. Well they didn't even have it in their computer. The lady didn't really know what I was talking about. While I was waiting for my truck to get flashed I walked around looking at the new job 2 trucks on the lot and to be honest, I'm glad they didn't have them. I really don't like the look of the 4" air dam at all. I'll stick with my short one.

yeah try using it for offroading, that is why i would take it off if i were going offroading, test drove an FX4 and tried taking it offroading and my dealer told me not to go into the farm ditches because the airdam could get caught so now i think i am going to be ordering a job 1 air dam just so i can offroad

Cool

I have a job 1 and with the short airdam, standing water is shot out and back on the windscreen. This happens so fast, you can't hit the wipers in time, you drive blind for afew seconds. At city speeds and traffic, it is extremly dangerous. Ya, the long ones are ditch ugly.

ummm, i do not know if we are on the same level, the airdam does not help with water after you run over it, fender flares would help but the air dam just helps with the air going under the truck

I have had the truck since feb 3 07, 24000 on it, trust me it sends the water straight out just bellow the bumper. Then the wind pushes it up and back at you. I know what im talking about.

For those who are curious, the part number is 8C3Z-17626-B and the list is just over $100.
For the F350, the part number ends in AA? The parts counter guy said the B is for an F450.

Mine should be here by the 2nd of June.

According to the guy I talked at my dealership and at fordparts.com:

That part number ending with: A is for the Job #1 air dam and ending in B is for the Job #2 air dam.

The bolts needed when going to the job2 dam are 6Mx20 bolts. They have the "retained washer" on them also. They are the same bolts you'll see at the ends of the job 1 dam when you remove it. $7.00 ea. at the dealer, MUCH cheaper at Home Depot. If I remember correctly you needed 8.

It's located there because now Ford only puts the big air dam on 4x4 trucks. 4x2 trucks get the smaller 2" air dam. Job #1 trucks, be it 4x4 or 4x2 both got the 2" air dam; Ford changed this with the Job #2 and on trucks.

In addition to the bolts, you can re-use some of the push pins from the Job #1 air dam to make it even more secure.

Didn't realize that they were making two air dams. Called the parts guy and changed it to the proper one. It's aout $79 for the bigger one and $72 for the original. Should be here Monday. Going to use the Home Depot / Lowes bolts instead of the $7 Ford ones.
