I am looking to order a 08 F250 or F350 V10 CC 4x4 and recently noticed someone mention that if you order the 4.30 gear that it comes with Dana 60 axle. What would be the advantage of of this axle over the standard one and is this axle for both the front and rear?

Comes with the 60 in front since 02 with all ratio's and the 10.5 stearling in the rear as far as I know..

 

It's a Super60 if you order the 4.30, least it was in 2005

and what years did they put that in?

 

All SD's since 2002 got the D60 up front. If I recall...the 'Super D60' is available on the F350 Dually (as an option) and the F450-550 due to the higher GVWR. It is also wider to allow for a sharper turning radius.

 

Super 60....wider, larger knuckles, larger unit bearings, etc....

 

wow, is that a 10 bolt pattern?

 

Yep, not sure what the bolt pattern on the hub is....but the adapter is a 10 lug (stock axle out of a 05+ 450/550).
