Sorry for the newb question here. I have a couple blank 2002 (Mustang GT) ford pats keys. My question is wiil they work for a 2005 (f-150) pats key?

I have a 2003 Mustang GT and the 2004+ F-150 key is different. I tried the same thing and the PATS identifiers won't cross the platforms. I've heard the Fusion and 500 keys will cross platform though. they run about $30 new, so I haven't gotten the nerve up yet to try

 

Simle answer for your question is No, they will not interchange. You can buy a guaranteed blank pats key for your vehicle on Ebay for about $20, then have it cut.

I paid 30 for a blank at the F dealership and they cut it too. Make sure you take them both of your keys.

 

The platform isnt the problem its the type of pats thats the difference.

Pretty much all 05+ use the same key.
