The '08 Superduties are the definition of FUGLY! They look retarted!
I cringe every time I see one.
The Chebbies are better, but the Dodges are the best looking trucks on the road today. My friend has been looking at buying an '07 CTD. The '94-'01 Dodge Ram body style is still one of my favorites as far as "new" trucks go.
Beauty is only skin deep ....I saw a Dodge this morning on the way to work - had a big Baltimore Ravens sticker on the tailgate.....I looked for a Chevy with a Miami sticker, but didn't see one. Probably wouldn't start this morning.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the new Chevrolet body style looks ridiculous. Looks like it was designed by a committee who never talked to each other. Whats with the separate, detached painted (sometimes chromed) sides on each side of the front bumper? And those ridiculous fender flares (and tailgate flare). Even the stacked headlights look like crap. The previous design could at times look a bit cumbersome, but the current model just looks downright clumsy. I used to hate the previous design, but it has kind of grown on me over the years.
The full-size Toyotas just look silly to me, and any truck-type product that Nissan puts out just looks flat-out weird. It's like they're trying too hard to stand out from the crowd, and they go about it all wrong.
Hope I haven't offended anyone here. I'm just an old fart that thinks truck styling peaked with the 1979 model year.
Welcome to FTE
The 2007 Chebbies copied off the 2004 Titan. Look at the sloping roof, the pontoon front fenders, the rear fender flares, the wide opening clamshell doors on extended cabs, the bed management system. Then Chebbie has the nerve to brag about their easy up/down tailgate...Uh huh...Both the current F150 and Titan had it first.
The Chebbie painted/chrome bumper extension: There's a reason for it...think body work. If the Chebbie gets hit on that extension, the extension will push into the fender, bending not only it, but the inner fender as well. If hit hard enough, that'll also damage the core support, and pull the front end over to one side. The cost to fixum will run anywhere between $1000.00 to $6,000.00 parts & labor.
Fellow members: All the auto manufacturers are in the parts business. That's where 90% of their profits come from, not from vehicle sales. So vehicles are designed with that factor in mind.
I'm an old geezer too, and like the Ford trucks prior to 1980 far better than the newer models. but I don't agree with you on the Nissan Titan. Outside of the front end, it resembles just about everything else on the road today.
Just about everything else...except the Toyota Tundra...it's fugly from any angle. What was Toyota thinking when they designed that thing? The front end looks like an angry beaver, and the side profile reminds me of an old swaybacked nag.
btw: there's an old saying: A camel is a horse styled by committee.

Well it is good that we are all entitled to our own opinion because i think that the new Chevy's look pretty sweet actually, especially a Z71 in red... I'd buy that....If it wasn't $37k
But I do agree that the Tundra looks pretty ugly, except for the powertrain.

I'm with you man...I really like the new Chevy's...
But I also think the Tundra is the best looking 1/2 ton out right now...
yah my dad bought a 05 dodge dakota 4x4 and i like the look of it, but if it was me designing the trucks and cars id go for that muscle look, make that truck look as mean as possible LOL like this LOL
TwoX - what year is that truck, a '74? Loved them 74-77's. You got a good one to restore there, when done it'll put these new ones to shame.
The lower SuperDuty headlights are function over style. Being lower, they can be aimed out farther without being in the face of an on-coming driver. It's a safety thing.
The new Tundra tail lights seem to go 1/2 up the side of the bed towards the cab.
I wouldn't buy a truck that advertises TuRD on the side of it!!!

I hadn't thought of that; makes a sad sort of sense though. I've been picturing how silly the trucks will look in a few years when the bumper "cheeks" get broken off and not replaced. They'll probably offer gaudy variations for them in the parts and accessories catalog too: chromed louvers anyone? Diamond-plate? **shudder**
Are you sure about that? The SDs are pretty tall trucks, and from what it looks like, the headlights would be aimed right at the windshields of smaller cars
I like the 08 front end. I admit it had to grow on me. I have seen the front end on different 08 F250 trucks and it took a while for me to realize that I much prefer to not have the chrome grill or to have the top of the grill hidden behind a bug gaurd. To me the Grill should not extend up unto the hood where it says "Super Duty", I don't think it looks right. I was confused at first b/c I would see one going down the road and think " I like that," then I would see another and think "Not so much." So in conclusion I like the front end but not as much with the chrome grill. Besides whith a chrome bumper and all chrome up front it looks as if some paint should be there but it is not all you see is chrome.
Just my .02
I would like to get the Fx4 grill and have it painted green those are sweet.
BTW if anyone is getting rid of regular 08 250 side mirrors I am still looking for some
