old school is the only cool school but ya cant complain about new tech an runnin gear etc but as for a cool ride old school kick an takes names i would like to see an old truck on new frame an everything else you imagine a v10 sleeper in old say 69 swb chevy 12 lift all the new running gear an swampers ya that would be cool
Just read through the whole thread and laughed my arse off a few times, you guys kill me .
Now to get myself in some trouble. So whats wrong with this truck (asside from the fact that its been to hell and back)?
Its not as nice to look at as prahaps the 74-79 fords, but what I like about it is that its not IN YOUR FACE or BOLD or whatever other catch phrase you can cook up. Its just a truck, it looks like one, its built like one, and it works like one.
Why do they go through so much trouble just for a pretty face? I would much rather have something thats simple, reliable, and just plain does the job. And its not about aerodynamics either, if it were, than trucks should be getting 30 MPG. And if I can push over small trees with the chome bumper, thats a bonus too.
Although I might settle for the MI-24 gunship.

nothing wrong with the truck at all. in my opinion throw some luxury items in the interior and give it a once over and drive it, it will feel the same as a new one.
i am still wondering what automotive engineer genius designed my explorer, functionality wise.

It's not a rumor, it's a fact. Ford is closing the Twin Cities (MN) assembly plant where Rangers are made. No more plant, no more Rangers. The plant was supposed to close in 2008, but the latest I've read is 2009.
Well there goes FORD dropping another segment!
Giving up on the Minivan, Full size SUV (Excursion), and Now Ranger! Dang fools...

Luxury you in an 86? What a concept
Haven't seen the interior of your explorer, but the climate control of the early 90s GMC trucks is really annoying, takes several seconds of holding down a button just to change the temp setting. In my 86, flick the lever from cold to hot and place your hand back on the wheel.
