Ford recalling 1.2 million 7.3 diesel trucks

This issue involves a camshaft position sensor that can degrade over time, letters will be mailed beginning on Dec. 17,
If necessary will replace the sensor at no cost.

All I can say is YES!!! The cps is the weakest part of the 7.3 motor.

Yeah its a common problem. Guys used to have to pay 120 some odd bucks to get the cps replaced. Then awhile ago ford dropped the price to 25 bucks or something like that. Its great to hear they are going to take care of this problem.

The CPS has been a problem for alot of people. After reading the 7.3 forums I went out and bought one and carry it in the glove box just in case. They are easy to replace but who wants to do it on the highway on a cold miserable night.

It should have been dealt with years ago yeah, but better late then never.

Makes me wonder what other recalls there will be in diesels later on...

This has nothing to do with the 92, it`s a pre-Power Stroke (without electronic injectors).

Not really quirks with the 92, just normal routine maintenance/tune up, etc.
I had a 96 F250/302 which I got fairly cheap and spent some money on, it turned out to be a good truck so I`m hoping the same holds true here too.

No, I sold it two years ago and now I have to watch someone that`s sorta trying to beat it to death. It`s good thing it`s Ford Tuff and just won`t die.....
