But I like Red

Well I finally commited to a color and just recieved the paint a few days ago. Yes I decided one bright red. I know most of the 53-56's out there are the same color and I hear it from alot of people that everyone paints them red. But I really do like that color. I tried to get out of the box and think of something different, but RED it will be!!!!!!!

Everyone has a right to paint their truck the color of their choice. I like red too, but it is not my favorite. Hopefully, mine will not be red at some point.

I have no clue why red was so popular back then. Seems like most of the original trucks were red (that I have seen in person).

Painted the FirstRide Vermilion Red . This was the original color & the PPG red is not cheap ! Look at the positive side , your truck will be easier to see . That color looks best in late day sun . It has a very, very slight orange hue to it .Am going to paint the current stock resto truck the same color .

I've never heard anybody say a red one didn't look good and I've never seen too many red 53-55's in any parking lot around town. Paint it the color you want and don't worry about what everyone else likes.

it's your's do what you will . my 53 is some sort of mettallic green and i'm betting it's a factory color from the mid or early 70's when the p.o. had it running and it's the color i want back on it .i like it . the 49 was yellow from what i can tell and that ones in the future but i'd be willing to wager it's gonna be that color again despite seeing many others in the same hue . dont care what others think if it makes you happy do it .

I'm with everyone else.. It's YOUR truck, do what you want, paint it the color you like. I build custom homes for a living, and I've seen some pretty wild room colors.. but I ALWAYS tell my customers when they ask me what I think... "It's your house, pick the colors YOU like."

I'm still working on choosing my color, but am also thinking of red. Of course, red can mean something different to everyone. Looking through some chip books, there are enough shades of red to make the choice extremely difficult. You can also add pearl, flake, etc. to jazz it up even more.

RED FOREVER!

My '48 F-1 was repainted by a PO a long time ago. It's a dark metalic brown, with the upper half of the hood and the greenhouse in a metalic beige. The wheels are the main body color, and the chrome caps and trim rings really stand out! I know it's nowhere near "factory" but I like the looks of it, and when I finish the bodywork, I'll re-paint it in the same combonation, maybe not exactly the same colors, (I don't know what the codes for these are!)but something close. I'll try to start a gallery, and post some pictures over the Christmas break !

RED is a very popular color. Mine is red and when the sun is bright and the chrome is clean it looks good. At night my red looks more orange. less blue mixed.

Another red truck.

Can't beat RED. Nice pick. Enjoy.
