stock breathing on 89 f250?

The stock air filter for my new to me 1989 F250 with 460 seems pretty small. what mods do most guys do with these? I want to put a freer flowing muffler with 3" exhuast but it seems the stock air cleaner is a bigger restriction than the exhuast.

just bumping back to the top. Anyone recommend an intake for a 89 f250 with a 460. Most of the companies I have checked don't make them for that use so wonder if there is a reason.

I have'nt got that far yet on my 89' but I don't think it does have mass air.
So dont want to steer you in the wrong direction, all I know is that cold air intake
filter kit has a place for two intake hoses,
You can also go to FordFuelInjection.com that site has some real good info on what
you should know about your system (engine).

Yea, the K&N Fipk and S&B filters should fit your truck: http://motorhaven.autoanything.com/air-intakes/20A50096A1.aspx
