Changing from single to dual on my F-100

I have a question, I currently run a single 3" exhaust and want to go to dual. So would it be good to go with with 3"in/dual 2.5" out for the muffler(I don't want to run true duals)? is that the right size?

BTW, the truck has a 390.

Thanks,
Mike

That would be great. What kind of muffler are you thinking of?

I'm really liking the sound of the super 44. Either that or the hooker aerochamber. But so far I like the 44 and have been pretty happy with my single 40.

I was also just thinking I might run the exhaust lightning style..........hmmm. I wonder how that would look and sound?

A lightning style exhaust should sound good, but it will be loud. I use to have a lightning style exhaust on my 04' 6.8l.

My F-100 has true dual 2.5" straight out the back with glasspacks.

Yeah I was thinking that as well. If I run it behind the tires I figured it would be nice because I could hear the tone of the exhaust better, and not just alot of noise.

Well, got it done. Went with the super 44 muffler with dual 2.5 outlets, exiting behind the tires with 3.5" tips. Sounds great, nice and deep, and aggressive when you get on it. Now I just need to get my hands on a camera so I can post up a clip.

Thanks for all the help,

Mike
