Smoother ride?

After eyeballing my broken shock mount I can't help but wonder if my shocks aren't contributing to the harsh ride... they feel every bit as stiff as Bilsteins [sp?]. Would I be crazy to think that a softer shock might take some of the edge off the ride or is this just a pipe dream?

I repaired the old one.
The Ford dealer didn't have one and said they weren't sure where to find a new one.....? Must not be a very popular item.

Although I would have liked a new one, welding it was free and it's already on the truck so we'll see how it goes, but thanks for the info.
