4 Wheel Drive Making Weird Sound

We had a big snow storm today so I tried the 4 wheel drive, it seems to work but when I accelerate/decelerate at around 1800-2500 rpm I can hear/feel a weird kind of shudder/grinding noise coming from the front passenger side. At 60 mph with my foot on the gas it won't do it. Anybody have any idea what this could be? Thanks Justin

Sounds like the same problem I'm having, I believe mine is the hub. The passenger side was done last year under warranty, now my driver side is making noise without being in 4wd. Switching it on only makes it go away temporarly...and warranty is up.

sounds like the IWE...... if enough damage has been done, then it will probably need replacing. if it did it randomly while in 2wd, then i would suspect a vacuum leak, or a faulty solenoid.... but if it does it only while in 4wd, then i would suspect the IWE, or even the hub if it has been chewed up enough.

My truck is a 07 with 6,000 m on it (so it should be under warranty) but it has a 8" Rize lift that was not installed at that dealership so I hope they don't try to say the lift caused the problem. I took it for a drive tonight and it doesn't do it in 2 wheel drive, just 4 high and 4 low. I guess I will take it in and see what the verdict is.

I see it in the gallery but the pic is tiny...looks killer! What size wheels do you have on it?

Just got my truck back...there was moisture in the vacum lines that made it's way into the hub making it randomly partially lock up and grinding. He cleaned any moisture out of both sides and replaced the drivers side hub.
