Need help to start 7.3 after injector change
I just finished replacing glow plugs and put new injectors in at the same time. How do I get air out of the fuel lines? I have cranked the motor over many times and very little fuel to the injectors. I have fuel getting to the injector pump. Do I keep cranking?
I also installed new return lines and made sure the copper washers were replaced, new o-rings.
Also when I took the injectors out on the passenger side, all of them were wet up the shaft to the threads with what looks like a diesel / oil film. Driver's side were nice and dry. Does anyone know what this is about?

The wet side may have had leaking plastic fuel caps at one time??? Some members/mechanics use antisieze on the barrels of the injectors to keep any combustion carbon from attaching to the injector barrels????
Ensure filter is full....With a helper, purge the air from the filter by pressing on the valve stem in the schrader valve (use a rag to catch fuel) while cranking the engine.
Now...
Open 2 steel injector line capnuts on each side, then crank for 15 seconds. Tighten the caps. Ensure there is power to the FSS key on...... attempt normal start with foot to floor max 15 second cranking. If it does not start post back.

figured out what it was. All of the new glow plugs are shot. Did the test light thing and all of them did not light up. I put four of my old glow plugs in, all light up the test light and I was able to start the truck. I am now putting the rest of my old glow plugs in except for one which is burnt out to atleast get my truck moving.
Any idea why the new glow plugs are bad? Unfortunately I didn't do a test light check on them as I installed them, although I do remember check one of them and getting no light, not sure why I didn't clue in right away that it could be a problem.
At one point when the reply was clicking, I jumped across the reply with a wire to power up the glow plugs, but made sure to only do this for about 8 seconds at a time. I did this two to three times at the most. Could this have blown up the plugs, would they all go?
Any help on this would be great!
