Reset (aka:"Thingy") Air filter minder again

OK...I've been watching my air filter minder pretty close, as I think I may be onto something here. I checked it again today and sure enough it was down to 50% and I reset it again. I am definately noticing a change in the engine performanace after resetting.......I think I may be looking at an air restriction of some kind here. I would love to put a K&N on just for tirds and laughs but I'm afraid this might be too much and cause code mayhem.....anyways any thoughts...???

no k&n's! If you go aftermarket intake, definately stay away from those

The problems I found with the K&N is they use oil on the filters. The oil is drawn past the little wire in the MAF sensor and it coats the wire causing a CIL. If you can live with that then go for it.

I can't believe with a 2008 you would be having to reset the minder this early. There must be a problem in the system unless you live and work in a very dusty area.

I put 41,000 on my 2005 and never had to touch it.

Any performance difference after resetting is purely psychological. The filter minder monitors the restriction across the air filter and is ONLY a messenger.

replace your filter. seen several filters go soft early. do not put an aftermarket filter on. ford states NO mods to these trucks and they are not playing. we are a mod friendly dealer but they hold our hands. had a truck in here the other day with a afe intake and a CEL with codes out the wazoo. ford has a bulletin about those codes and mods.
