Wiring Diagram and Spark Help Needed '84 E150 4.9

Re: '84 E150 4.9 4 speed
My problem started with a run for 5 min and die (no spark) and digressed to a no spark problem. I have several posts in the "in line 6" forum about the problem.
I have installed new.... TFI module (on distributor), PIP, coil, cap, rotor, wires & plugs. The old TFI did fail the ohms test on several fo the D1 connections.

I have battery voltage to the coil + in run and start positions but during cranking with a test light on the - terminal to ground I have light but no flash.
Fowling the Shop Manuals 10 point test and found no battery voltage on the 'Start' (H3) wire of the TFI module connector when the key is in the start position. This indicates a bad ignition switch or broken wire. The other two terminals in the test (run, run & Strart) check out good.

(the terminals of the TFI Module connector are called several different names depending on which book you read. My best understanding of the 6 wires is the bottom one is ground, then above it the coil, run, start, SPOUT and PIP on the top)

I am going to take a look at the ignition switch and assume the start wire on the TFI connector will go to the start terminal on the ignition switch ...correct?

If you have read this far and still want to help, I am open to any other suggestions.

Other things I have done or noticed:
Cleaned all battery and ground connections that I can find.

My "new" coil tested at 7000 ohms which is below the 8000~11,500 spec. I put back on old coil which was 8400. this is a little on the low side but still within spec.

With a spark test lamp on the top of the distributor I will get a weak flash when you first engage the starter and when you release the key, but have voltage to the coil all the time. Thinking this could be a ignition switch problem I used a remote starter with the key on and got no spark.

If I had any hair in my head I would have pulled it out by now, what started as a typical heat caused TFI failure seams to now have other components involved that were working fine before.
Like I said, tonight I plan on pulling the switch, but I am open to other ideas.
Thanks,
Jim

Check the pickup sensor inside the distributor. I have a book that says the early sensors where made of rubber, and oil mist coming up the dist shaft from the engine would attack the rubber, and make the sensor fail. He said the early ones prone to fail are black, while the later ones are a lighter color.

Thanks but this is a E150 Van, Doesn't look like Autozone has a diagram for the van. I have the 1984 Truck Shop Manual which covers the E150, but I can't find a wiring diagram. The last few pages of the index are missing, if I can get a page # I can find it.

Thanks, Jim

I have changed the Pickup (PIP) and it looks like both the Control Module and pick up were also changed before I got the van at 87K, now it has 160K
