at the wheels or at the flywheel?

 

bigger injector and turbo, but a lot of supporting mods need to be done to keep up with it.

 

at the flywheel i would gues, the 400 and some cc hybrid injectors, big fuel system, big oil system, maybe compund turbos or a really big single? then lots of base engine work, such as o-ringed block, main girdles and rocker girdles, head studs

 

let me re ask my question how much could i do to the truck without having to get into head studs or engine internals just bolt ons like injectors turbo superduty hpop oil pump things like that

 

About 500 hp. Head studs are needed when boost is over 40psi.

without studs 400hp is playing with fire. the real mark is 40 psi boost but 500hp requires a full engine build, well and do more than dyno runs with it!

I don't know. But if you don't have the cash to build a second engine you had better built the first on right or cut back on your HP.

 

well don't have the cash for 2 engines could you put a fail safe on the truck to defuel it when it hits say 35 psi so you don't tear it up
