I filled up today at a different station and noticed that I had filled up with D2 diesel. What the heck did I put in my tank! Sometimes I'm so pre-occupied I don't pay attention like I should.

 

If you talkin bout number 1 and number 2 then you used the right one as long as it wasnt red (offroad fuel). No.2 is Diesel fuel and no.1 is Kerosene. You do not want to use Kerosene straight because it hase no lubricity and will damage your engine but a mix is ok more no.2 than no.1 you can run in winter, but is not needed no.2 is recommended for all temps unless it is seriously cold where you live below 10 degrees or so then you could mix to reduce gelling. Kerosene burns hotter and like I said before has no lube so it will hurt the fuel system and engine is used by itself.

Up "north" they start selling #1 along with #2 for winter use.

 

we actually just went over this in school today...its pretty neat...we even talked about what actually comes out of a barrel of crude oil and the percents are shocking. I have a whole book on fuels and lubes...just a little info only 1/2 a gallon from a 42 gallon barrel of crude is useable for lubricating oil (engine oil). If i get a chance ill post a pic of the pie chart.
