Methanol Prices

How much are you guys paying for your chemicals?

Methanol here (Nova Scotia) is $445+tx for a drum.... KOH is $53 for a 5kg bag.

It makes for some expensive bio...almost $.60 a litre ($2.25 a gallon)...thats not including the time or the cost of epuipment.

Good things fuel prices are almost double that...

misnomer is starting off with a positive reputation.
I saw a post where a guy was selling Methanol in southern Nevada for $130/ 55gal drum (+$20 if you needed a drum). chemistrystore.com sells a KOH 50# bag for $106. (of course they can't ship to Alaska or Hawaii or Canada)

I can get methanol for $140/drum plus deposit from Univar in Winnipeg. Check to see if they have an outlet in NS. Can't hurt to look. Try Brentag as well.
