You have to find a local Texaco distributor in your area. Start with the Texaco web site, and even then it's not easy to find who the distributors are. I get mine from two sources - Melvindale, MI and Chicago, IL.

Some rustproof shops use it, but not all.

Texaco undercoating

On threads about rustproofing, I find people chime in with all kinds of compounds and systems... eastwood, POR-15, motor oil, rubberized undercoating... but how many can back it up with honest, long-term personal results in hard, rust-belt winters?

My 17 year old winter car is still rust-free on all areas that are undercoated with Texaco Rustproof Compound. I've also owned two previous cars cradle-to-grave that went 11 years rust-free in our Michigan climate.
I agree that there is nothing better than Texaco undercoating. It was developed in the mid 50's and all Texaco stations used to undercoat vehicles. The only place I think that does it anymore is the Ford dealer in Dearborn MI. My dad had a 1980 Ford that he purchased new. We sold it after 23 years and the undercoating was still soft and the truck did not have a spot of rust anywhere. When the guy showed up from Iowa to buy it, he couldn't believe how rust free it was. This was the best product ever produced. Forget about the other national brand undercoating. It's a rubberized product that falls off after a few years of service. The texaco stuff is gooey for the first year, but is petroleum based and that's what makes it work so well.

Whoa blast from the past

Yeah after I did this thread I spent a whole bunch of time going over my frame with a wire wheel and spraying everything with rubberized undercoat....after I started driving it regularly most of it had fallen off within a year.

Going the used motor oil route now...
