2007 expedition suspension modifications and aftermarket tires
I haven't been able to find any other info so I am posting what I have found. My truck is in the shop right now having the lift kit installed. I went with the one from Truxx, which I got from Fat Boys garage. (Forum sponsor). I will post the new pics in my gallery when I get it back. As far as tires, The absolute largest you can fit without cutting or lifting are 305/65/17. That adds less than an inch in diameter, but a few inches in width. They will fit on a 4X2 with absolutely no rubbing, and that was with full suspsension travel. There isn't much room though, less than a 1/4 inch. I bought the Procomp A/T extremes, buy 3 get one free, I couldn't pass it up, and I put them on Moto Metal wheels. The road noise is tolerable, but definitely louder than the stock tires. But with the luggage rack and rain guards, its just one more noise producing add on. If anyone has any more suspension experience, post it up, I know some would like to know. Especially if anyone ran the Daystar kit, which is much cheaper than the Truxx kit. FYI, I am having it installed at Meineke, my 4WD shop wanted 600 for the install with an alignment, which was ridiculous, but Meineke is doing it with a Flowmaster muffler as well, for 480. Can't beat that.

Just picked it up from the shop, the exhaust sounds awesome, and the kit was perfect excpet one small problem, the rear brakelines are a bit tight at full extension of the rear suspension. It wasn't the limiting component in the loop, but I will replace them eventually. Here are the post lift pics.

Not anything noticeable except the height. I think the increased width of the tires and the offset are making up for the height change. My wife has to use the sidesteps to get in now...at least now they are useful. It feels nice to me, obvious enough to be different, but not a monster truck or anything like that. I am happy with it so far, except now I may have to get a 2" drop draw bar for my hitch, booooooooo, I have a three ball straight draw bar which was perfect, we will see when I tow the trailer again, which on a side note the Expedition pulls like it isn't even there.
PS-The overall height with the basket is now 7'6". No more parking garages for me here in San Diego, they are mostly 7' or so.

looks good, I had the truxxx lift put on mine a few months ago. It definately makes it higher. I have had a few problems in parking garages as well. Truck is probably about 6'8 now or so, I can fit in parking garages that state 6'6" or so, but I have to dodge pipes that hang down, which is what they measure from. No big deal. Once I add 33's i will have more issues. I currently have stock size Nitto Terra Grapplers, I may end up having to get new ones sooner than later, one of the tires seems to have a very slow leak. I think it may be from a slight cut in the sidewall.
