2004 F150 4x4 Supercrew Engine won't start...Need Help!

My truck sat for about 3 days in the cold (about 35 degrees at night.) Turned ignition key and acted like a drained battery. (Think I left the radio on or something) Tried to jump with another small truck battery, but would not get enough juice to do the job. Engine would turn but no ignition.

Then, I hooked up a "Fast Engine crank /Slow trickel charge" Cahrger that I plufgged into the garage electrical socket, but the engine wouldn't even turn over this time. The instrument panel said "Engine Sensor Error" and "Check Engine Temperature" I was low on Antifreeze, so I filled it back up to correct level. Still no engine power.

Now, The head and tail lights came on with the battery charger on only, even though the switch was off! Prior to this stage of the process, I had no spark when connecting the battery charger to the Truck battery terminals. Now I get a spark when making contact.

Still, no engine turn and now no intrument panel lights. I now here a clicking sound coming from behind the truck bed. It sounds like it is coming from the drivers side of the truck between the bed and the rear passenger door. I think that may be where a fuel pump is located?

I need help to determine what is wrong and how to go about fixing it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Your battery may have dead short, if so you can't jump it off through battery, put in another battery to try it .

Your battery is totally dead. For some reason Fords when the battery has absolutely no charge confuses the lighting control module and the lights will come on while you are trying to charge teh battery. Sometimes if you turn the headlights on and then off with the jumper in palce it turns the lights off. It will usally work after a few minutes on the charger. The battery will need a while to take a charge to make the engine computer funstion. Don't know why, but not enough current seems to come thruogh with a totally dead battery or shorted cell to make them start. By the way, the lights have a time out feature so if anything is left on for more than 20 minutes with engine off, the lighting control module turns them off. Supposed to prevent a dead battery. I would suspect you battery has a shorted cell. If it runs with the jumper hooked up, and then dies as soon as you unhook the jumper cables, the battery is shot. Good luck...

Thnak You for your Help!

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm fairly certain I have a dead battery. I have removed the battery from the truck and currently tryinh a slow charge on it. If it holds a charge awesome!

By the way, where is the fuse panel for the truck. I was wanting to pull the fuse for the Headlights as means to disconnect it from pulling the battery power. I can p[lug it back in after i get the engine running?
