Hey guys im new to the site. i dont own a ford truck yet but hopefully will soon.
im lookin to get a 94-96 F150 Xcab 4x4
i gotta few questions:
1. what kinda MPG do the 4x4 F150s w/ a 302 get?
2. i plan on lifting it 4-6" when i find, what all is needed to lift it besides what comes in a kit if anything?
3. is there any year you would stay away from buying?

Do you want a 302 for a specific reason? Because I have a 351 and absoulultly love it. I get about 14 mpg 4x4 supercab automatic, and my grandpas truck with the 302 gets about 15.5 mpg, but his is a 4x2, so I don't see much difference. Just make sure its not a candian import, because thats what I have and it is rusting above the rear wheel wells.

The 94 newer 302 can be found with MAf on the newer trucks . Just heck more peppy. Most will have the e4od auto od trans . If you find a 5 spd get it.

You will get better MPG on a stock 4x4 302 . BUT If doing a lift you may as well get the 351 as the tires will suck MPG to the 10-12MPG range. And you will need lower gears or it will be doggy . The trucks I had I put 4:10'S AND 33" TIRES the mileage came back close to before. But that was mine.

Out of 18 trucks it was 300-6 302 then 351 for mileage

I keep records and never got above 13 MPG (intertstate )on highway driving on any with the 351 4x4 3:55 rears . The 302 I got up words of 16MPG and my current 4x4 302 4x4 e4od w/3:55 rears have got steady 15 MPG with about 600 lB + tools in back .

I drive mixed town highway . Hey it depends on you the miles u drive . 2 Miles per gallon is not great but multiply that by 500 miles a week and it adds up .

Welcome to the site if you plan on buying a 4x4 xcab F150 myswell go with the 351 i think so anyways cause if you lift it and put big tires the 302 will work hard to turn them

You will probably have to change the rear end ratio maybe!... mpg difference between 351 and 302 aint much some people get goood mpg with the 351 some get bad same goes with the 302 too many variables affect the gas mileage like 4x2, 4x4 heavy foot or light engine in tune/working good, tire pressure you usually get good mpg with stock tire

City mpg is bad so expect between least 10 to best maybe 15 highway probably maybe better or around same numbers
