Hello all,
I've been monitoring this board and wanted to see if this will apply to my Expy as well.
Does anyone know if this setup will work on a 2007 Expy? If it does anyone have instructions on how to remove the Nav out of my truck? Is the canbus 34 pin connector the same on all expy's or are they different?

Thanks!

Question Do you need a switch?

Is the switch neccessary? Can't I just clip the wires and call it a day?

Has anyone figured this out yet for the 08 Super duty? I thought I had the problem licked, I cut the grey/orange wire for the CAN bus and you lose the radio all together. I'm still trying to find an enable code. Don't want to keep cutting wires if I don't have to. Any info would be great. Thanks

I am wondering if anybody has accomplished this fix on a 2008 f450 super duty ? I am very dissapointed with the nav system in comparison to others I have used . there is no ability to spell the name of a ocation that you are looking for eg a store or restaurant etc. I was curious if there is an after market software provider that gives us usfull tools . any responses appreciated

The vss is the e brake on aftermarket stereo's. And you override that with a ground switch also... if you need help finding your vss wire on your existing gps/dvd go to your local radio install shop they do this for me for free plenty times and they even print me what wire is what... hope you have luck nice install on the switch just like a pro

Am I safe to assume this will work on my 2007 Sport Trac? Which is the right wire to manipulate for my vehicle?

I have a question about the original topic...

I have an 03 Expedition, and get the restriction even wish passengers, so I want to bypass the whole thing. Here is my question.

The OP talks about putting a switch in-line. My question is:

Is there any reason that you would ever want to turn that back on once it is off??? If I just simply cut the wire, and cap the ends, what is the draw back??? What functionality (if any) would I lose???

I wanted to PM the OP author, but even though everything says I can, I can't... So if anyone can help me here, would be much appreciated.
