Talking 2004 exhaust

I have a 2004 f150 stx with the 4.6 and i was woundering how much a better exhaust would affect the truck (mpg and hp)? And any recomendations. i have always been a big fan of dynomax on past vehicals but have never owned anything this new so i am up for suggestions.

Really i dont think exhaust does much it helps because the stock systems are usually restrictive and kind of choke the engine but i doubt it will increase mpg maybe a tad bit in hp but nothing totally noticeable i just love it for the sound and the look and your mpg might suffer cause if you love that sound your foot is always into it

Many say magnaflow cat back exhaust adds some more umphh but i dont know i dont own a 04-07 150

Performance-wise, Magnaflow really is the best way to go, but if youre looking for bang for the buck, you really should check out our BamaChips custom tuning. With a tune alone we were able to gain over 46lbs of torque at the wheels!!! And it costs the same if not less than an exhaust system.

I would start with the tuner, then move on to other mods. From a strictly performance standpoint, exhaust should not be THAT high on the list. Look more towards a well designed intake, like the S&B, then pulleys and e-fans.

Here is a link to the BamaChips products on our site!

it'll make you happy in the noise department, but not much else. Get a tuner and an exhaust...best of both worlds

I got an STX also and am thinking about a flowmaster 40 series but i have read that those are pretty loud. So I'm not sure yet...

I love it too...my car arrived in Hawaii today and I get to pick it up tomarrow afternoon....

now I can accelerate and drive a real vehicle again...and woe unto the first ricer that revs up next to me...it's been a long 3 weeks

hopefully my truck will arrive this week or next week. I miss it somehting fierce

the flowmasters are very very loud. they also tend to have a droning noise at highway speeds
