Question Larger MAF

I have a '95 5.0L Bronco 4x4. I recently bought a larger air filter and intake tube. I want to replace the stock MAF with a larger one. Which MAF should I use? (A BBK throttle body and a complete Edelbrock intake manifold is in the near future).

Do you think a larger one will help?
What eles have you done to the motor for it to need a larger one?
I know a few guys in town that did the same thing only to replace it with the stock one cause it lost a lot of low end drivabilety (SP)

Ditto on the any other mods...

Frankly the MAF sensor is not a big issue on these trucks. A LOT more mods needed before that. Also on the Ebrock intake. The stock 5.0 intake is not that bad. The heads, exoust, and cam are the big thing holding you back.

Question

So, the factory MAS isn't a restriction at this power level?

Not at all, and neither is the intake. Spend your money on 1.7 rockers and exhaust work instead.

Flows the best??

Well the key is to start at the motor. A cat back realy is not going to gain you a lot. A pair of headers, a custom, or performance replacement ypipe and cat, and a cat back system of your choice. Pretty much any bigger pipe catback will flow more then a 5.0 needs.

From what I understand, you need to match your MAF and Injectors to the Horsepower output of your motor. So until you make your modifications on your engine, i.e. heads, cam, etc. your MAF is fine. If your stock MAF is flowing 70 mm it will support 350 hp with 19 lb injectors (although I would use 24 lb injectors on 350 hp). Maybe someone with a little more knowledge could confirm this.

How much fab work are you willing to do and how much are you looking to spend? This goes hand-in-hand with the inlet tract as well.

If you need to change the factory MAF (because the voltage goes above 4.65v) then you'll need some type of aftermarket tuning to dial in the transfer function.
