300 performance

Can anybody recommend a book or site with some good info on getting a little more power out of the 300's? Any places that specialize in 300 performance (carbs, manifolds, heads, etc)? I've never worked on overhead valve inline 6's, just flathead 6's and various V8's. Any help here would be appreciated.

try lmctruck.com. cliffords is a bit pricey but they spceialize in the 300 6. lmctruck.com has free catalogs you can order. if you want more power id put a 302 in there. a lot of preformance parts for those around. just a thought

Thanks Vampiro for the info. I would put a 351 in it if it were mine, but it's my Dad's truck. After I bought my 3rd one, he decided he needed one. He's not looking to make something real powerful, just to drive around town in. I just plan on getting a little more power out of it for him, so he can try to keep up with my trucks. Maybe middle of the night I'll drop a 429 in his truck and not tell him. Hehehehe...

I would stay with the 300, but I'm partial to them. You can get GOOOOBS of horsepower not to mention the torque. Try clifford Performance or www.fordsix.com. Besides if you build a six, you won't be like everyone else and will surprise a whole lot of V8 guys!
