Leaking 6.9 IP - fixable?
The injection pump is leaking on the passenger side, through the throttle shaft hole. Pump is a DB2-4869. Can the o-rings be replaced with the pump still on the engine? Local FI service place says 'maybe', but offers to sell an exchange pump for $496. O-rings only are cheaper, but can it be done? I've never opened one up, and the service manuals don't cover internal pump servicing.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It can but requires some removal of parts ie the VRV and shaft..... I have some info but not much.....
I would think if the IP is over 100k pickup a replacement............

Cornerlot,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
A mistake in the IP can result in a run away engine.
Engine speed keeps increasing with no way to turn it off except cutting the fuel line into the IP before it blows up.
Internal IP work is best left to people that have the tools and equipment to do it right.
