You all need to stop passing judgement on a BLURRY picture! When the good pictures come out, then you can pass your own judgement. I like how it looks and it is 100% pure Ford.
maybe he is talking the cab height. The current 4x4's are 75.5 inches high. Are the 09's going to be any taller? I hope not, or at least not too much because I only have 2 or 3 inches to spare right now in order to fit in my garage.

Somone quick call the WAAAAMBULANCE.. we got a cry baby here..
Buy a car then its fit.. maybe trucks are not for u!!
Often times if you look at the posting history of the people who bitch the most about new trucks and tell you how great year ______ (insert whatever year here) is ........ it sometimes turns out from their posting history they don't have the means to get a new truck or even a slightly used truck. They lob verbal mud at newer trucks and their owners because they are jealous.
I love old trucks, and love working on them. I've owned several of them and I'm even looking for a very good condition 1956 or 1966 as a project truck. I'm also looking for an older Powerstroke for a project. And I also love working on my newer trucks. The big difference between working on my newer truck and the older trucks is I'm doing things like adding a supercharger, e-fans, wiring in cool computer technology, adding a nav system, wiring in gauges to monitor the supercharger, fabricating a sub enclosure ---- while with the older trucks its changing a timing chain, adjusting the distributor every 5,000-10,000 miles, swapping out older technology for newer technology such replacing points with a breakerless system, platinum plugs, better radio and disc brake conversion on my 67; replacing a worn out alternator, rebuilding the engines for more power, swapping in a 4 barrel, etc. If someone isn't educated enough to work on newer trucks maybe they should have studied more in school and/or kept up their self-education after school. The technology isn't difficult to understand -- and in many ways it makes it easier to work on them. I read constantly --- computer books, automotive books, science-fiction, philosophy, religious history, etc. Not only is it entertaining, it also benefits me in countless ways. Try it sometime, unless you want to be in the same position in life 10 - 20 years from now that you're in now.
I'm not so foolish or naive as to pass off the newer trucks as inferior. In every way they are better. More powerful. Can tow more. Accelerate better. Better in an accident. Safer to drive. Better features. Roomier. Handle better. Require less maintenance. Stronger frames. Better adaptive from the PCM. Better ergonomics. Quieter ride with less rattles, seat noise, frame and body noise, etc. Better technology (take a look at the new Sync system for 2008+ if you want an example of some really incredible technology). Sure they have their engineering problems... but so has every model ever made and if you don't believe that go to any of the sections on the site and you'll see people have complaints, work-arounds, improvements, etc.

wow, it seems people would buy new trucks if they made them to last, and not just to be new.
Ray
That doesn't make any sense. If they were built to last then people would never have to replace them and then Ford wouldn't sell anywhere near as many trucks.
thats why i still drive a 75 ford because they ARE built to last, not for the reason ken is trying to say. if i wanted a plastic truck made in mexico i would buy a new one.

One reason for using plastic parts is they're cheap to make and so, are a cash cow for all the auto manufacturers.
Another reason is to save weight = blame the US Gov't and their CAFE standards for that, not the auto manufacturers.
Since 1956, I've owned over 80 Ford products, including 7 new trucks and 2 new cars.
