I also like how it looks but I am more interested in the powertrain. If it has the diesel in it 250 hp and 450 trq 25 mpg hwy then all is good in blue oval land.lol

The 6.2 ltr gasser would be good also.

The peasants will rejoice.

Also, what's with the diesel craze? Deisels, are noisy, rattling, gross poluting, sons of bitches that only have their place in the towing/fleet vehicle world. Not it the Ford excursion while the wife runs and picks up the kids from school, and the gracerys at walmart.

There's a guy down the street that has a nice F-350 King ranch, had it since it was new, never seen a trailer! Mean while I am driving back and forth from Dodge City kansas to Knoxville, TN every other week with a 24' GN steel stock trailer behind me (5280lbs empty), close to 5k lbs in stock every trip to knoxville. The 10k lbs of trailer behind my half ton truck which I might ad has 230k miles.

The diesel has just got to the point where it's a status statement and not a truck to work out of. Same with the 3/4 ton and 1 ton chassis.
Most the new diesels are quieter, cleaner and more powerful then a comparable gas engine

Wow.. When I first saw the 92-96 F150 I thought it was too car like. Now Ford has the ever so briliant idea tio come out with this. But Ford is just buildingh what sells and I don't blame them entirely. It just goes to show that even in the last 10 years the definition of a 1/2 ton truck has changed. I will say that I will never buy a new 1/2 ton. I would not be afriad of an old one though.

what exactly do you have against new trucks....that they tow too much? or they ride too nice? or is it that they are fuel injected? I don't understand why it is you think they're such bad trucks.....

Mainly I don't like the govt imposed features. Black boxs idiots lights that monitor the tirse pressure etc. Not to mention the computers that came about as a result of needing to meet emissions.

Well thats just rediculous.....clearly we should go back to the days of no seatbelts and drum brakes.....

Gov't features like tire pres. monitors come from things like, people not checking their firestone tires and trucks rolling over, and people removing their catalytic converters ..... half of the stuff the government imposes is fixing the stupidity of people....the other half are just good sense..."seat belts, airbags, ect"

Well that's their problem. As for your first line now your taking it to the other extreme. But the black boxes found on the new cars (not sure which brands) which record everything I do. The lights that tell me if the tires are low or if the engine is too hot. I quess I know why the call them idiot lights. I'm not an idiot and don't need lights that are made for such. Some diots just should not be allowed to drive. Like a certian person I know (unfortunately) that drove all the way to Grand Rapids (5 hours one way) with only 2 lug nuts and a 5 bolt wheel. Then wondered why the wheel fell of five miles out of town on the way home. He later admited he was looking the truck(s-10Blazer) over BEFORE HE LEFT. Why should the rest of suffer because people are dumb? Then there's the airbags which was later found to kill just as many as it saved when used improperly (aka: no seatbelt) But once you get passed the govt mandateed BS It just comes down to the styling. and the drive train. Styling is subjective, to each his own. For their drive train the new trucks do not offer enought options. In 89 Ford offered 3 different manual transmissions(maybe more that I can't think of tonight) and a few different auto trany options. Today you have two choices. an atuo (which is subject to engine choice) or a manual.

Black boxes reduce insurance costs, thats why their there. Black boxes only hurt those that drive irresponably. Air bags hurt you if you use them wrong, this goes back to people being dumb.....use your seatbelt, sit properly in your seat, and airbags save lives...again, gov't regulations are there to protect the lives of those who are too stupid to protect it themselves, and they really don't hinder the rest of us.

unless your taking your truck for repairs becuase you ain't a compuiter whiz. Then you can pay $75/ hour and the cheaper insurance rates don't look so good anymore.

Once again unless your taking your truck for repairs. These saftey features also jack up the price. The argument about what is one's life worth is minal as the increased cost forces more people to drive older trucks without them because they can't afford replacement. This area is not known for jumping on the new trucks. It took five years before the 97 and up Fords were a common sight.

i agree also, ford still has a truck that is way more advanced thatn the competion anyway, then when the new drivelines come out it will be even futher ahead. ford comes out with an advanced idea and then others follow and ford gets no credit for it. like all these stupid magazines picking the toyota for truck of the year, they must not research it very far cause if they did it would not got truck of the year at all.
