I would never call that a truck. Minivan, yes.

To me the pic of this F150 reminds me more of a Chevy than anything else. I also feel like I've seen that fender flare like that in another vehicle but I don't know what. Also, are those air intakes I see in the hood? If thats been covered sorry I quit reading after about page 4 when it all got sidetracked with tow ratings.

Those are most likely OEM wheels. Dearborn Derek already confirmed that this is the Platinum version truck. The Platinum model is supposed to replace Lincoln Mark LT which has been killed off. The LT used to have OEM chrome 20's so the new Platinum model should have them too.

stuff like this kinda makes me wonder if ford doesn't intentionally 'slip' one just to monitor buyer reactions...

Ford is less than happy (mainly due to public reaction) that the picture is out there and it was no intentional slip on Ford's part. Infact, if you look in the bed of the truck you can see the full camo that is supposed to be on the truck.

I actually dont think its half bad! The bed is still too high and Im not a 20" dubs on a truck kinda guy but this truck is a bit different then what I thought it would be grill wise, but again its that Platinum edition or whatever so its gonna have a different grill. Im guessing the regular XLTs, Lariats, and XLs are going to have a Super Duty like Three Bar grille design or something along those lines. Ford seems to be going that way, the current F-150 XLTs and Lariats with that chrome three bar grille are beautiful in my opinion so anything building off of that would be great!

But Im more of a traditional style truck guy. Hell I get more pumped up seeing a 92-96 XLT sitting in the back lot behind the dealer dead then the trucks brand new around front. But thats just me, Im kinda wierd like that!

So to sum it all up, I dont hate it at all but it doesnt get me too jazzed up at the same time. Im kinda in the middle!

Yup. Pretty ugly indeed. Unfortunately, we will have to look at a lot of 'em . . . with that "Halo T" logo on the grille they will probably sell a boatload of them, ugly or not.

It's the samething everytime. Everyone hate's the new truck until they drive one or has a chance to buy one. I'm the sameway. Wait til this truck gets a couple of your under it's belt and they will come out with a new truck and most will hate it and love the 2009. It might look like a toyota but if you really look close at a new toyota it don't. The truck looks like a little ford fusion to me. But that's my opion. If I was able to buy the 09 I would. I think it looks good.

Exterior is "okay". I do not like the dashboard, the fuel/temp/oil/batt are horrible IMO, the hubs are way to big, and they look dumb and the placement of the guages overall does not seem so great

Still doesn't matter, it's all about 30mpg diesel or 25 mpg big power gasser.
I was just gonna say it looks like a Mazda.

It looks like my current F-150, '04, I'm at a loss as to WHY the IGNITION is still buried on the steering shaft. Relocate this to the left side of the S.Wheel on the dash PLEASE? No navigation on the dash? Parking brake could easily be an electric unit with a push button activation? The Leader of the pack is faltering in it's leadership role.
Build a 4L V8, DOHC, 4V for the F-150, option #2, 3L straight six Diesel P.S. 4V. this is my opinion of the future of trucks. The eco-nazis are gonna get their way & up the mileage standards 30-4-%, this will effectively kill all forms of recreational tow vehicles.
