Robar makes an excellent M700 conversion with a box magazine.. too bad I don't have the funds for that!

There was a guy that used to shoot High Power Rifle with us, that had a Remington 700 BDL in .308 Winchester.
He had modified the rear receiver ring to accept 5 round stripper clips.
Since this was NOT considered a 'Service Rifle', he shot in the 'Match Rifle' class.
However, being able to load 5 rounds from a stripper clip was a real timesaver!!!!!!!

There are several places.
First and foremost www.odcmp.org (Office of the Department [maybe Director] of the Civilian Marksmanship Program).
Springfield Armory, Inc. (No to be confused with the old and original Springfield Armory) also manufactures and markets an M1 Garand.
Fulton Armory. www.fulton-armory.com (I think!)
They too, offer the M1 Garand, plus 'smithing services of same.
Those are just a few places to get ahold of the wonderful old Garand!

my choice of sniping would be from 0-150 yards, with my mossberg model 500a, chambers 3inch, and i shoot brenneke KO sabots slugs. can put 6 slugs in a 5 inch diameter
they cause some serious damage.
on the history channel the other day, they had a 50cal sniper rifle, i dont know the name, but they pretty much described it as the most devestating firearm in the world. will take out targets behind something stupid like 5 inches of concrete or something like that, and as for the range, it would take me like an hour to jog to the target

A mossberg 500 sniper rifle? hehe, you will have some trouble convincing the purists.
Army uses .50 cal sniper rifles made by Barrett, pretty wicked rifle. I have seen them, but never fired them. Browning M2, on the other hand, I have put a few rounds downrange.
The M2 was used (sometimes) as a sniper platform during Vietnam, engaging targets out to (beyond?) 1000 yds.

Not quite...
gunbroker.com & auctionarms.com are online auction sites.
GunBroker can become very expensive very quickly, if you don't watch your pennies!
GunBroker user WinM1895 (A+49) will tell you all about it.

All purchases were 19th century firearms.
I have one new Glock...well, it was new in 1986. After that, everything 'round here is AFH!

I guess they figure that someone buying a Lyman receiver sight that only fits a 1886 Winchester will modify it to fit an assault weapon. Uh huh...yeah right, after paying nearly a grand for the sight, someone will put this ancient bit of technology (it dates to 1895) on a modern weapon.
