Im a week late
Im a week late to post this some of my friends in here wanted to know how
I made out. My target last Friday was to pull the 317 anchor out and
have this F900 ready for work Monday. A long block FT 391 and a 5sp OD
clark installed. By noon Sunday I went for a cruise , result this thing
can really rock. The tranny must be a newer Clark that is in my F800 ,
cause its all syncroed It shifts like a car and dont even need the clutch
to shift it. The only thing I cant get right is the temp gauge. I left it
pos ground cause its got a 100 amp pos gr alternator. I put a 1978 gauge
in the 53 face plate Note all those King seeley gauges will fit just pry off
the face plate it works and i have tryed several senders I put a gauge
regulator and all send the gauge to hot. Other than that I am really
pleased with its power, for some reason this one has more power than
my other truck . Any body doing this, remember all parts exhast pipes
etc are all standard Ford parts, no m/mousing. The only thing is when I
go to NAPA is just say I need this P/N for a F900 with a 391 when they
say what year, I say 53,58 67, 78, 88, then laugh Jonny Cash.
