factory '52 straight-6 emblem? is this it?

I'm wanting to keep my 52 exterior mostly factory correct but i've swapped out the V-8 and installed a 300 straight-6........

i've been talking with "rcav8or" about this, i'm not even sure if there ever was something just for 52's with a straight 6, but surfing the gallery i found this.

anyone familiar with this hood nose piece emblem?

Good question that I've never seen answered before. I have that same emblem on the 52 F6 I just bought, but it had a 360 transplanted in it - I'll go check the vin on mine. That emblem caught my attention just yesterday.

edit:
My vin is F6M2LB10968 so the original engine was a 254 six. That's all I know.

The forum's galleries don't have anything to restrict who posts them to this forum.

PS -- nice looking truck!

it's like the picture is still there, but through "code" it's displayed here,
here's one linked from my web site.

the web site address is http://www.geocities.com/yj3qtr_ton/34tonYJ.html

This is a picture of a '52 F-6 with a straight six I had a while back. It was all stock as far as I know. Sorry, I don't have the hood any more:

I looked all over the place for that emblem. Nobody is reproducing them. I finally found one at a yard in Arizona last year. I think I had to give $20 bucks for it, and it needs work. At least I found one.

I wish I could help ya out, but my spare nore piece is pretty rust pitted and has the studs busted.. and the only spare emblem I have is a V-8.. and even that is in rough shape.

I didn't realize you could do that, I looking at the picture thinking how much it looks like mine and realized it also looked like my driveway, yard etc! DUH!

So was this specific to '52 or did it come into being with the style change in 51?

I would say it's 1952 specific. There isn't a place on the hood of the 1951's and haven't seen any other emblem on the upper valance than the V-8.
