Tranny Gauge problems
I'm installing the Isspro gauges on my 97 F350. I've been testing each gauge as I go along before I tuck away and hide all the wiring. My tranny gauge however, worked for maybe 1 second I saw the gauge jump up then nothing. I checked everything, I have power to it. I checked the sensor with my ohm meter and its reading open, is it suppose to be open or is it a bad sensor?
I have 12 volts coming out of the power supply box too so I'm all out of ideas.

My Isspro trans temp gage does nothing untill the tranny has been warmed up enough to register on the gage. You are probably OK.

Scroll down the page for Isspro.

I would try and locate a infrared heat gun, you can get one at NAPA cheap and there a great tool to have around they come in really handy for miscellaneous things some not even related to the automotive diagnostic world, and find out what the temp is at the sensor on the tranny and compare it to your trans temp gauge and see if there's a difference. It takes a certain temp before the gauge will even consider waking up. I believe its somewhere around 140 degrees-ish

It's no less than 45 degrees out. I myself would think it would take a while to heat up. But the only thing thats got me doubting is when I tested the gauge, I saw it jump quick and the needle move, but then it went down and nothing happened. Ever since, its hasnt been moving. I'm not really sure what is going on, whether there is a problem or not.

I just double checked my temp gage, it does nothing when the key is turned on.
I seem to remember one of my gages did what you described when it was 1st powered up....
If your temp gage starts at 140F you will need to drive a long time in 45 degree weather to get it to register.
You could remove the sender and heat it up to see if it moves.
