Cool Air Conditioner

I have owned my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab pickup for a few months now. The air conditioner just all of a sudden quit working on me. I have checked the coolant level on the low pressure side, and everything is fine. I've owned many Fords, just never a Ranger, is there a special fuse or switch to cause it to quit working....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
