which tpms sensors to use ?

i have a 2007 f150 harley davidson ed with 22" rims. i bought ford 18" rims to mount snow tires on. can anyone tell me which tire pressure sensors i need to buy? since i am not dismounting the 22"s, i don't know what sensors come with the truck, and if these sensors will fit the 18" rims. don't know if they are the valve stem type or the strap on type, i've heard there are different colors?
other than having the warning light on, any harm not putting new sensors on?
as long as i don't hear any warning chimes like the seatbelt system.
thanks for any help you can provide!

My 18" OE's have the strap type. Beyond the mounting style, I haven't heard there were any other choices to be made.

you may want to check with the dealer on whether or not the new rims will actually work with the sensors. I know that not all honda rims work with the TPMS sensors. Which brings me to my next point, my wife's truck is a honda ridgeline and i run 20's on it during the summer with no tpms sensors installed. It just leaves a light on the dash which we easily overlook. The truck doesnt sound a chime unless it senses that one tire is low, since all of the sensors are out, it seems to overide the chiming. I do know that it will not harm your system to not run them.

If the rims have a rubber vave stem than you have the strap type. If the sensors are made on the the valve you will have an aluminum valve stem with no rubber.
You stated you wanted to run tires for the winter, why not run them without the sensors. You can save some money and since in't only temp. you could just put up with the warning light till spring.
just a suggestion.
