To dish or not ..

I just read (from a book based on small-block Chev mind you) that it is preferable to use a cyclider head with smaller, closed chamber (say 75cc) and use a dished piston, than to go with larger, open chamber (say 95cc) and use a flat-top piston, when building a street engine with a CR of say 9.0 - 10.0:1.

The guy claims (David Vizard) he routinely saw 20HP better from the closed/dished combo over the open/flat-top pair.

Does this apply to the 460 Ford I wonder?
