I did this for another FTE post and thought I'd throw it in here. I hope it will help. You have to have the URL of the image copied first :

Your truck look fantastic, paint turned out really well. I can't wait until I'm wearing colour. Congratulations on the fine work.

I'm somewhat confused about creating a gallery. I've read in several posts that you have to be a paying FTE member to upload pictures from your computer. I guess I failed to read that piece of information. Anymore info. on this?
I have a photobucket account and in all my responses to threads I have no problem with copy and paste from photobucket into my reply. However I can't transfer my photos from photobucket into the photo gallery using the same method I use for posting photos to a thread. I'm a member of some other popular hot rod sites and I've never run into this problem before. Why is it different ? My browser if Firefox if that would make any difference.

Any help would be appreciated!

Paying members can upload images directly from their computer into their posts, they don't have to have their images parked on an external site like Photobucket. I don't see any place in the gallery area that will allow you to upload from a external web site. If you want a image from your Photobucket account it looks like you have to download the image to computer and then upload it to your gallery from your computer.

The HAMB site is a little more liberal in their procedures to post images and also storage space in both their gallery and mail boxes than FTE. It's all up to the administrators of the site as to how much space they'll give out. On the internet space equals money.

I also need help in using a photo outside from the ones in my gallery. I know how to post a image from from gallery, but when I want to use a image from outside my gallery it doesn't allow me. Can anyone help in that matter.

Aussie,

Posting an image from another internet source, i.e. another web site, is the same procedure as posting an image from your gallery, I think. I just noticed you're a paid supporter so I'm not quite sure if posting an image from a paid supporter's gallery is the same as a non-paying member, like me. I have a album in my gallery I use just for images I want to post specify to FTE. The images you have in your gallery have a URL, or internet address, that you have to copy and paste into your posts. The same thing with outside images, you have to right click on the image, click "Properties" and the copy the URL of that image and then paste that URL into your post using the image button as explained in the previous posts. I hope this has helped.

BTW, it is considered rude to post an image URL from another site without getting permission because every time some one brings up an image from another site it's taking bandwidth from that site, costing the other site money. At least that's what I have been told and have read on the net. I still do it though.

Thanks for all your help on this thread, But I have a question I don't see?-has been asked.

It may be obvious, but I'd like to send a relative of mine a direct link to my gallery on the FTE site. Is it possible to do that?

I'm not a paid member-currently-and that might make a difference-and I do successfully post photos here on FTE in my gallery with dialogue as to work in progess etc and some of my relatives were interested in following etc.

I know I could create the same at another photo site, but I haven't done it, and I was wondering if I could just give them a direct link to my gallery here.

I hope this isn't too stupid a question. I'm not as computer literate as I'd like to be.

Tom

It`s easy, just copy and paste your gallery link in your relative`s email.
