New 55 owner

Been looking for a while and finally found a F100 that called my name. Picked it up yesterday. Plans are to keep it stock and restore things that need attention. It has misc little things that are wrong but nothing to major. Motor is a 272 Y with 4 speed manual on the floor. Here is a photo of it.

Hi Paul, A real big welcome to you. That truck called a lot of our names, you were lucky to hear it first. Very nice looking indeed. It really is great to find one that is a driver needing only minor attention. We should all be so lucky.

I also notice that you filled out your location in the user CP and it now shows up in all your posts. Yippy ki yaa. We should send you cookies. ( more on that later)
Jon

thanks guys for the welcome and compliments.

CIAF: did you see the truck on ebay as well? When I talked to the owner I knew this truck was for me and it was decently close unlike all of the east coast ones I see for sale. Then when he told me 5k that was it. I cant even find a decent running truck in AZ under 8k.
I notice your in Adams, CO. I just recently 1 year ago moved from Brighton back to AZ.

Welcome to the board. Good looking '55. You sure it's a 272, and not a 239? The original V-8 would of been a 239.

Get the casting number off the side of the block, should be above the oil filter location. You can then either post it here, and someone will decode it for you, or check out ford-y-block.com

I lived just south of hudson by the sod farms which was un-incorp adams as well. It sure helped buying things to save on the tax and the space was the best. We really miss that area.
