The chapter leaders of the Mid-Atlantic Region has agreed to hold an FTE G-2-G at next years All Truck Nationals in Carlisle, PA The date is August 8--10, 2008.
We plan on registering as MIDATLANTIC FORD TRUCKS - FTE "club" and hopefully be in the running for a club participation award.
This will involve members paying a registration fee which in turn will qualify us to have a tent and parking provided by the Carlisle show.
There are plenty of hotels and campgrounds available for overnight stays. It is possible to make it a one day trip from Pennsylvania say on the Saturday of the show. If we have enough members willing to stay overnight, then we would be willing to reserve a block of rooms now to guarantee them for the event.
We need to get 25 registered members to get the free tent.
What we need from you all now is a show of support for this meet to see how many we will have from Pennsylvania to attend.
Id be interested... but as of right now, we havent even turned one bolt to start a truck project ('55 F100, '54 F-250, '57 F250) However, this would give me a motivational "push" to get something started. My holdup was trying to finish my streetrod first... but hey, things change. Hmm a 8-9 month build off? I smell a challenge!.......or maybe thats just me..... cuz I havent.... showered yet........
Since its a local trip only 3 hours. I wish I would have kept my vendor spot now. How much for T shirts

Yeah I will definately be there, will enter my truck this year if it puts us in the running for a prize, not the prettiest but sports a blue oval up front!! As far as staying over if we could get a campground that would be cool.
I have convinced the wife we are in! Will be pulling the trailer up, can anyone recommend a camp ground close by? Will there be parking at the tent site or just general parking? Any word on what the registration fee will be, and will it include the entrance fee also?
Hopefully we will have a campsite reserved where all Mid-Atlantic campers can camp together. MD chapter had posted some recommendatins in their thread.
Registration is around $40, which includes 2 people, parking at the Mid-Atlantic tent site. No other fees that I am aware of for the weekend.
Happy New Year to you also!

Anyone looking for campground for Carlisle Truck Nationals might want to check around Mt. Holly Springs, PA. Less than 30 minutes from Carlisle and on good roads. Can think of Mountain Creek, Tagg Run, and now have a case of brain fade. Anyway there are probably about 6 campgrounds in that area. Hope this helps and it will put you closer than Gettysburg.

I have tried to find some campgrounds within roughly 30 minutes of Carlisle. I have not stayed at all of them so I am not recommending any specific one. Some of them have websites if you want to look them up further. The order that they are listed is just a random listing. Tha Gardner addresses are closer to Mt. Holly Springs if you look up on the map.
