Exclamation Massive Collision-Everyone down south OK?

Hey Clint, Jim, and all our southern members, are you ok? I just read this article about the huge pile up due to fog.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071103/...freeway_pileup

I've got to remember that Thule fog in the central valley is pretty bad and my truck sucks for stopping distance.

Let's be careful, especially next week when we get together.

Yea, it was too early in the season - normally the CHP starts pacing traffic when it gets that bad.

But it may be the accident started when the lead cars slowed down, and were hit from the back by an out-of-state driver who failed his DWI test. If true, he will spend time in jail for manslaughter.

I taught my step-son and have told Liz to hit the sholder and not stop until they were up against the fence when things go bad. I would rather pay a tow bill then have them stop on the freeway!

This morning, on the news, they stated that there was in fact an intoxicated driver, but his driving may not have been the responsible catalyst for the collision. In other words, they are saying that it is looking like it wasn't his fault. (there, that sounds better)
