Intercooler y pipe identification

Intercooler y pipe identification
I found a 99 PSD in my local junkyard with a mostly complete motor. How can I tell if the intake spider is the one I need for my IC project? I'm sure there's a PN somewhere, but I'd like to know what the physical features are that differentiate the early 99 spiders from the later model parts. Thanks.

The difference in size is both in the intake, boots and plenums at the head. From htat part number it looks like its a late 99

Also here is a pics of Coonhunterjoe's early 99. Notice there is no intake air heater to the left of the machined flat square in the middle of the Y-pipe. All lates will have the AIH and earlies will not.

I got the part number for the early 99 part here, maybe it's incorrect.

The presence of the IAH is a good tip, the kind of info I was looking for that helps ID a part in the junkyard where part numbers may not be visible.

i apologize, i forgot all about this, i will run outside in a few minutes and check for the id number, you need a y-pipe from a pre-may99, it has a smaller inlet since the earliest 99's used our compresser housing and had the 2.5 outlets, the newer 99-03's had a 3 inch outlet and a double sized inlet. i will run out in about 10 minutes and get you a number

I think in order to use the late will need the entire turbo and pedestal out of a SD. the turbo sits higher in a SD. also I think the cold side housing has a larger base so at the very least the base plate will need to be changed. But since the turbo sits higher that will mess up the alignment. pretty much to use a late I think you need the whole works, up-pipe exhuast collector, turbo, pedestal, y-pipe. then that swap does require a bit of clearancing of the firewall but not bad.
