I wouldn't worry about messing with the fuel until you move the air thru the engine way more efficently first. Your truck is the same year /model as mine, so from my experiance, first thing, cut out the soup bowl, I always use a Ford air filter- its not cheap but if you look at it you can see that it has way more surface area, therefore more filtering area with less restriction than the aftermarket filters. If you can fabricate up some kind or ram air system to get rid of the Mickymouse restrictive OEM air inlet scoop you can get nothing but better air flow.
The next part of the equation, is if you have the OEM 2 1/2 inch exhaust, loose it.
At the very least, go to a local muffler shop and get a 3 inch pipe fabricated , including the Y right to the back. That will give you a dramatic increase in the responsiveness of the engine, quicker acceleration etc.
Actuall increase in pulling power, however, can only be achiecved by increasing the ammount of fuel you can safely burn. This will require the addition of a pyrometer.
I have increased to 4 inch exhaust, have a decient ram air system and headers. Only this has allowed me to increase the fuel to the point I am satisfied with the power produced, wihtout going to the expense of a turbo. Hope this helps and give you some idea's.

excuse me for being dumb what is a pyrometer,i've heard about them, what do they do? i want to get the extaust soon!should i get 4 inch true duels or 4 inch single pipe. are the headers real expensive.are they hard to put on?some guys say run straight pipes.whats the best way?forgive me for all the questions i'm new at this.i wish i could run a pipe to the bottom of the radiator support to get some really fresh air but there is no enough room,to much junk in the way. hey by the way do know where i can get some clear headlights mine are fogged up.thanks agian.

If your truck is not 4x4, the duals would be the easiest, 3" straight pipes would be more than enough even without headers. If you are going single, I would go for the 4". Headers are expensive, about $500 for the set, then a lot of fabricating to get a cross over pipe and Y set up together if running a single system. Pyrometer= EGT, exhaust gas temp. Mine is autometer, just drill and tap 1/8 hole in the top of the exhaust manifold right at #6 cylinder for the probe, easiest one to get at.
