Mixing Diesel Kleen+2cyl oil.?
I was thinking of doing this.Actually am going to unless you guys convince me not to.What I want is the best of three worlds. The centane boost from Diesel kleen. The lubricity from the 2cycle oil(according to that study that has been floating around). And the convieniance of being able to buy both of the shelf at wal-mart.Not so good at ordering things in time for use.My formula would be about 12oz.diesel kleen and16 oz.2cyl.oil per 24 gal. fuel. What do you think.Good idea, bad idea,or change the ratio a bit?

I dont think I'll go the acetone route.A little harsh dont you think? Then again I'm no chemist how should I know. But 12 and 12 mix sounds ok to you.Not putting to much in there.I was just reading anouther thread down a bit.On there they were talking about overdosing a fuel mix is not to good either.Except in bio-diesels case.Wish I could get that stuff around here.

I use both flavors of DC, White and Gray Mix in the summer and Gray in the winter. I then add Mobile Syn 2 CYC with the acetone. I mix it a gallon at a time and at every 20 gallons of fuel, I add 1 quart of the mix. I have no problems with the mix. If the winter temps get to stay around 0 for a week, I add a little kerosene to the fuel. It kills the performance a little, but also helps stop the fuel from waxing.

I kind of missed that study on 2 cycle oil. I used to race moto-x so Im familiar with a lot of brands. Can I run Maxima's 2-cylce castor oil? I love the smell of that stuff. I guess the 2-cycle is lubing the injectors, is it also cleaning them out? I'm running the Delo LE right now for the added moly.

Off topic, but I recently wrote a letter to Sams Club about Biodiesel. THey offfer niether #2 or biodiesel at my local Sams Club. I asked them to offer #2 and or a biodiesel at a max of B20. (so they can market and sell it without customers haveing to make major changes to their vehicles.) I have not recieved a reply. To me Bio-diesel makes perfect sense for lubricity and a positive impact on the enviroment. It also frees me up from having to add additives every fill-up. The closest bio dealer to me is 50 miles away and is not even part of any of my commutes.
It would make sense to me that as the government takes the sulfer out of #2, they would give tax breaks/incentives to gas stations that offer bio to make up for the lack of lubricity in #2 diesel. This would help the littleguy who runs his/her own gas station a chance to sell bio/ with less start up fees out of pocket. Bottom line/ we need more bio at the pumps. I also feel that every gal of diesel should have at least a b5 mixture. But somehow, I feel that that small 5% mix of bio would equate to billions lost in the crude industry.

- Farm prices for soy beans went up so high last year, that a lot of the bio refiners couldn't afford the product, so they scaled back or went nipples up.
- None of the engine manufacturers will certify their engines on anything higher than B5, so it's kinda gotten to be a "What's the point?" thing...
- I'm sure in farm-belt areas they'll still have it at co-ops and the like, but two years ago, they build a big bio refinery 20 miles west of year, took it a year to get cranked up, and in August they shut it down... (see point #1)
- another thing that got me was... there was only one station in the region that carried bio... and it was a dime a gallon more than petro-... I thought the idea was supposed to be more economical and lessen America's dependance on foreign oil producers?
- and THEN... they started busting guys for running home brew in their vehicles and fining them MAJOR amounts of jingle...
