I need to know when my truck was produced to get the right set of gaskets according to the parts store computer. It is a 86 f-350 but I need to know if it was before or after 02/86. What is the diffrence if there is one. how can I know what to get.

so you are saying that there were both efi and carbed 460's in 1986? I didnt think the efi on a 460 came out until like the 88 model trucks. Anyone know when 460's went to efi? I just got gaskets for a 85 I hope it works. Mine is carbed so what do you think. I bought mr gasket gaskets from summmit the whole kit was like 45 bucks. Will this work. I also went ahead and got a seperat valley pan from felpro as well. opinion????

well give you the one clue on dates the first EFI heads casting number is a E7 number making them a 87 revision, yes in very late 86 would could possibly find a few EFI units.

My truck is a January 1987 build and is stock carb'd From what I have seen just looking for a vehicle to purchase, EFI 460's started appearing late March/April of '87.
