Help! My Truck won't start
Greetings!
I cleaned the battery terminals on my 7.3 liter
Excursion this morning because I was getting a few false alarms in the middle of the night. I diagnosed the trouble and thought it might be current loss trigering the current draw module. Anyway, when I reconnected the batteries, the anti-theft light kept flashing. I tried three differnt keys, all programed, but the truck will not start. When I turn the key I hear a buzzing under the hood, then the theft light rapidly flashes. My Batteries are reading 18.5 on a voltmeter and I changed my cps. Still, the light flashes. Any help that you guys can render will be most appreciated.
Thanks!
KennyG

well, a couple things come to mind...
the buzzing noise... any idea what part of the engine compartment it's coming from? (bad ground at, or possible bad starter relay?)
actually, you could do a voltage drop test across any and all of the cables and cable connections... no more than .2v drop, otherwise you've got a bad cable or a bad connection...
bad (notice I didn't say "blown") fuse?
starter enable relay take a poopie?
Anti-theft module went sToOPid when you had the batteries disconnected?

recharge the batteries and check your voltage drops.
while you're at it, try disconnecting power to the alarm and see what happens

I would say your volt meter is wrong.. I don't think you can get 18.5 volts out of a 12 volt battery..
The most you can get is around 14.5 volts and that is with the engine running.
