wet carpet
A couple months ago I noticed mold growing on the edge of my front carpet. I lifted my big one piece rubber mat. My carpet was all wet. I thought I must have left the window open a while back and it just never dried out. I borrowed a steam cleaner and cleaned it pulled up as much of the carpet as I could and dried it out. A couple days ago the drivers side was soaked again. The passenger side seemed a little wet also. It had rained about 3 days strait. Where do I start looking?

it is your inside step panel i had the same problem(the panel when you open the door that u can pull up to remove the carpet i believe it is call a door sill) i had water coming through there because they use cheap little rubber gaskets to seal it up from water. i used superduty door sill seals that those trucks use to solve the problem and it worked ill get u some pics of what i mean i thought it was my ac or something like that and it wasnt.

I had that all up to lift the carpet to dry it. There are lots of wires running thru there. So you are saying it doesn't seal to what? The bottom of the door? I can't think of how that comes into play. Pictures would be a big help. I was hoping it wasn't coming in thru the windshield. This at least sounds easier to fix. Thanks for the help. Looking forward to more info.

big red. When you pull up the sill plate look at the underside you will see rubber seals that are suppose to seal the sill plate to the body. If you look where they go in you will see that the holes are open. I had this problem also after removing mine I took a rubber hammer and tapped them down ( Gently ) then looked from underneath to make sure they were in place. The water isssue is from driving wet roads . Which we all have to do . I think it is an awful way to seal something. But oh well I haven't had any issues since. Hope this helps..

Big red as Azroo said it is your air conditioner. The drain spout is too short and instead of it draining outside your truck, it is coming back inside. I had the same problem and took it back to the dealer. When I dropped it off there was another truck in there for the same reason. I also had lots of drainage outside, when I looked, but there was plenty coming back inside also. They replaced the drainage spout, and it doesn't leak any longer.

I found it. I can't get to it. You have to get up so your feet are about 2 feet up. I use milk crates they work great. From the front lean over the latch look about 6-8" left of center. About 15" down from the hood gasket. Even it bright sun you need a fashlight. I don't have the factory air intake so I can see mine. Only about 1" of it. You can't see the end. Then I crawled under to see it from below. I could see the water coming from that general area with the A/C on. Keep in mind that this is the company that recommends when doing certain jobs on the new 250 diesel you need to raise the entire cab about 4' off the frame to get at stuff. When I used to work on my 1970 F150 6 banger I could sit on the wheel well with my feet down next to the motor. The cab mounts where so rusted on that truck if. I pulled out turning left to fast the cab would twist enough for the clutch linkage to fall out. I got real good at driving with no clutch. Eventually it twisted so much the fan went into the radiator when I was 4 wheelin. The sun is out. I guess I go. Mess with the truck
