truck hard to start

ok guys i have a few questions 1990 F350 7.3L

1 How much oil does this motor hold
2 this morning about 5 am truck started fine after new gp controller installed yesterday about 38 degrees this morning , lunch time about 55 degrees or so truck would not start and again at 5 this evening any ideas

sorry one more question about testing glow plugs i read to use a test light and clip the test light on the postitve side of the battery and touch the other end to the glow plug question is do i touch the tip of it were the wire plugs into it or what thanks for any info

yeh, on the top of the glow plug and remove all the wires for all the plugs when you test.
the glow plug is just like a coil, it the coil is broken, it wont conduct electricity.

if i remember right, it should take 11 qts of oil.
did you change the return fuel system parts lately? they may be letting air into the fuel system and making it hard to start.
also, are the batteries up to snuff for the winter ?

thanks bilder12 its my buddies truck he's only had it for 4 days and he's ready to sell it allready, i think it would make a good truck if we can get all the problems straightend out on it, the batteries tested good at parts store, they are 850 cca , what parts are u talking about for the fuel return lines
